Advertising
Throughout history tobacco advertisements have taken on all artistic forms. From the 17th century tobacconists hung signboards outside their pipe and tobacco shop. On occasions Nubians wearing crowns and skirts and various countertop figures were displayed on the premises. Smoking Automatons, enamel signs and posters were used to promote pipe smoking.
